FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is our procedure for appointments?

All patients of Carolina Plastic Surgery and Laser Center are seen by appointment. Appointments are accepted without referral from another physician. If it is necessary for you to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you notify our office at least 24 hours in advance so that other patients can be scheduled. Patients requiring emergencies are always seen in the office as needed.

What is our financial policy?

CareCreditPlease feel free to ask about our fees. The office manager is available to discuss any financial aspects of your care. In general, the fees charged are comparable with those of other qualified specialists in this area. It is expected that fees for office visits and minor procedures be paid at the time services are rendered. Itemized receipts will be supplied. Total fees for cosmetic surgery are due in advance of the procedure. There is no fee charged for your cosmetic consultation.

What procedures do we follow regarding insurance?

Our insurance department exists as a courtesy for our surgical patients. We are happy to assist you in filing a claim for COVERED surgical procedures. Insurance forms for surgery are due in the office PRIOR to surgery, with the patient's portion completed and signed. Even though your insurance policy may cover a percentage of all your medical expenses, the payment of fees is the direct obligation of the patient or responsible party. Insurance payments made to this office will be credited to your account and any overpayment is promptly refunded to the appropriate party. All balances are due within 15 days prior to surgery.

How do we handle prescriptions?

We can fill and refill prescriptions only during regular office hours. Since our staff requires access to your medical records before a prescription is phoned in, no prescriptions will be issued after hours or on weekends.

How are emergencies handled?

Access to medical services is available 24 hours a day. After regular office hours, our answering service will have the physician on call respond to your call as quickly as possible. If an emergency situation occurs after office hours, please call the answering service before you go to the emergency room.
